SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

A Senior Project Manager with construction and project experience is required to work on an eighteen month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Farnborough.

This is an eighteen month contract work for a UK leading defence client.

OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER CONTRACT ROLE

Our leading defence client are now recruiting for a Senior Project Manager (Construction) to be based in Farnborough to join our clients Infrastructure and Environmental team which is part of our Real Estate Solutions team. We are looking for a candidate who is looking for a different business focus to develop or expand on their construction project management experience in a very challenging and fast paced expanding business environment.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

- Ensure all aspects of the project are scoped and defined to ensure that the customer and business requirements are achieved.
- Management and coordination of the design team, construction and outfitting contractors ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality.
- Create and maintain key project documentation and plans, including project management plans, requirements and acceptance plans.
- Undertake stakeholder management with the different business functions, project sponsor and those affected by change.
- Manage acceptance and handover process.
- Control and monitor the project, by reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and where necessary, intervening to resolve issues which threaten delivery to plan.
- Production of progress reports, including contract status reports, using appropriate tools such as EVM.
- Develop, maintain and manage key relationships with sub-contractors, customers and other stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are achieved and that issues are effectively addressed.
- Lead and manage the development, agreement and resolution of project risk, assumptions, dependencies and exclusions.
- Responsible for organising and planning Life Cycle and Gate/Phase reviews, agreeing deliverables, planning deliverable inputs and ensuring timely reviews are undertaken.
- Management of the IT provision at the new sites.

The role is based in Farnborough, Hampshire commutable from Aldershot, Farnham, Wokingham, Bracknell, Chertsey, Weybridge, Woking, Guildford, Farnham, Winchester, Basingstoke and Reading with excellent access from Surrey and Berkshire
