Department description

We're looking for an autonomous and experienced Senior Project Manager to join us heading up an exciting program of projects in Yorkshire & North East.

The National Consultancy provides consultancy services across the full spectrum of the Trust's conservation, marketing and supporter development activities, in support of the development and delivery of Property Business Plans and Whole Trust strategic objectives. Consultants are required to have specialist professional, technical or functional skills, which they combine with high quality consultancy skills to deliver advice and support, effectively and efficiently, close to the point of delivery.

About the role

As a member of the Consultancy team you'll work with a team of expert consultants, contractors and regional colleagues to deliver a range of large scale and complex projects and programmes. Using your project management experience you'll manage all internal and external stakeholders, communicating effectively with all parties including local communities, media and contractors.

As the Senior Project Manager you will work closely with other Consultants to deliver a programme of projects across the region. These will range in size and complexity but as the lead for financial and resource management you will influence where appropriate to ensure they are delivered on time and to budget. You will lead project teams, co-ordinating and instructing others to achieve first-class project delivery. You will mentor and coach others to help in-still the profession of project management within the YNE region of the National Trust.

This role will primarily be based at either Holy Jesus Hospital or Goddards, however as a member of the Consultancy team you will be required to work at properties across region from time to time.

About you

You'll be an APM qualified project manager and have experience of managing a programme of projects enabling you to self- manage a complex workload. You'll have a good working knowledge of managing project budgets up to £1m. You will be an inspirational leader and have a proven track record of leading and motivating a team. Liaising with and influencing of stakeholders, both internal and external will form a key part of the role. You will need to keep control of the project budget and look for cost efficiencies where appropriate, managing delivery of the project to scope and time.

A background in working with heritage buildings and /or Mechanical & Electrical engineering would be an advantage.
