Senior Project Manager

DESCRIPTION:

My client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager on a 6 month contract based in Dublin South.

My client is a leading global Insurance company who serve commercial, institutional and individual customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Define project scope, deliverables, schedules, budgets and approach with Project sponsors and business partners
- Effective management of, and communication to, the project stakeholders often at Senior Executive level
- Ensure project life cycle, execution and reporting is in compliance with PMO standards
- Ensure an appropriate quality plan is in place for project delivery and all stakeholders and delivery partners understand their part in the execution

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

- Excellent working knowledge of a range of technology project development life cycles across Data warehouses, Mainframe, Client Server and web based technology
- Change project management skills with a well-developed understanding of their application from a  business context
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate, influence and engage with Senior Executives from across our business unit
- People management and team building skills
- Strong operation, business and IT management skills and the knowledge to know when and how to apply within the management framework for a specific project
- Must be flexible to travel within Europe as and when required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Minimum of 8 years PM experience of small, mid and large scale complex IT projects
- Change PM experience in General Insurance or Financial Services essential
- Applied knowledge of process and workflow improvement techniques required
- Accreditation in a recognised PM method preferable
