Senior Project Cost Accountant

Our Client is looking for a Senior Project Cost Accountant within the Project Management Office (PMO) to provide finance decision support to the assigned programme through:

1. Supporting programme managers and project managers across a portfolio of projects with budgeting and forecasting in addition to reviewing actual expenditure to date;

2. Ensure relevant financial documents are processed through the finance systems;

3. Be the lead contact for the overall programme in all financial aspects equating to £100m+ spend;

4. Deliver relevant financial governance and or ad hoc reporting and analysis;

5. Set the standards for internal control and financial compliance across the Programme  

Part qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with practical experience working within a large programme/project environment.  
Knowledge and experience of key day to day finance activities for 20+ projects, such as budgeting, forecasting and month end processing.  
Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence people whilst building working relationships. Ability to work to tight timescales in a pressurised environment.  
High Level of aptitude with Microsoft office, in particular Excel.
Ability to work with individuals at various levels within the organisation from Director level down.  
Ability to manage, lead and coach direct and or indirect assigned employees.  
Highly articulate with effective written and interpersonal skills. 
Ability to communicate with and educate finance and non-finance staff in project finance related processes.  
Ability to provide guidance on all financial aspects of a project.  
Good system knowledge of Oracle EBS (advantage) or similar system.
