Senior Program Finance Officer

- 3 MONTH CONTRACT

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Identifying and resolving problem areas including over/under expenditure of budgets, non-compliance with policies and procedures, and providing advice on issue resolution.
- Collecting, reconciling and analysing operating and capital expenditure and program information for submission to Finance division for inclusion to the required NSW Treasury report
- Developing detailed best practice work papers to support year-end/hard-close financial reporting, in addition to managing and responding to internal and external audit requests and other legislative and compliance requirements.
- Analysing and reconciling the financial performance results and position (capital and operational expenditure) to develop, coordinate and provide monthly, ad-hoc and yearly financial reports for submission to various stakeholders, the Executive Team,
- Reporting includes comparison against budget/target figures, developing variance commentary and identifying relevant risks

SELECTION CRITERIA:

- Significant senior level financial management experience in a complex organisation
- Demonstrated extensive practical experience in finance and accounting, including reconciliation and analysis, management reporting, and budget development
- Well developed investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in a service oriented environment, as well as demonstrated commitment to quality processes and service delivery, and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
- Excellent management and organisational skills, including project management skills and the capacity to deliver high quality outcomes and meet tight deadlines
- Advanced computer, Microsoft Excel and accounting system skills, including substantial experience with financial management applications, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, electronic communication and SAP finance modules
- Degree in professional accounting and full membership of CPA or ICAA
