THE ROLE

- In the role as product engineer you participate in project teams, focusing on new development and sustaining activities.
- Participate in product development teams and secure new released products are intrinsically robust in design, process, package and manufacturing flow.
- Develop and execute all activities under PE responsibility as described in the CIP (Characterization and Industrialization Plan) among which: concept feasibility, DfX and risk assessments, define DfM/DfT boundaries, IPR plan and reporting, review Q/design reports, setup and review safe launch, provide a fact-based Go/NoGo advice to PRB at BCAM gates including risk assessment when applicable.
- Interface to manufacturing (diffusion & assembly) with respect to process related aspects in both development and sustaining phase, including assessment of changes and waiver requests.
- Support account teams in technical interface to customer on product requirements or performance issues
- Continuously monitor and drive improvement for the products under his or her responsibility: Quality, Yield, Cost, Holdrate
- Drive/participate in 8D/CAT/DMAIC teams in case of product performance problems or customer complaints
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement within the product engineering team way-of-working (quality, efficiency, TTM, cost, competence) as well as the BL Operations team as a whole.
- Maintain and extend knowledge in the area of product engineering by literature study/contacts with colleagues, conferences & workshops. Share/coach/train knowledge within the PE team as well as to SLA colleagues in the factories.
