Senior Product Controller

Senior Product Controller - Banking - London - £600-800/day

Our client, a Top 4 UK Bank, are looking for a Senior Business Controller to work in their London office on a long-term contract basis.

A role has arisen for a Temporary Project Senior Manager in the Business Control team with around 5 years post qualified experience, to backfill the current senior manager. Ideally they will have a comprehensive product control background in all money market, FX and Bond products. Additionally they will have knowledge or current financial reporting requirements to ensure that the set up of books and records are efficiently and effectively managed. Their experience should not be limited to solely product control products as knowledge of risk and balance sheet reporting is essential.

The successful Senior Product Controller candidate will have the following:

- Proven experience of managing a team of at least 5 or more
- Money Market products knowledge (understanding the products and their booking and accounting) of bonds, loans and deposits, interest rate and currency swaps, swaptions, call and current accounts, nostros and any other money market related derivatives trading. Fx trading knowledge would be an advantage
- An excellent understanding of the balance sheet and the relationship with the Profit and loss accounts
- Strong Access, strong Excel, at least to VBA and the ability to manipulate efficiently large amounts of data - to support and underpin the above in terms of reconciliation, investigation and explanation of movements in P&L and Balance sheet and to assist in developing in-house EUC would be a definite advantage
