Senior Procurement Specialist

Interim Senior Procurement Specialist, 6 months, £300-350 per day

A Central Government Department that directly influences the way that a large portion of public money is spent, is looking to add an Interim Senior Procurement Specialist to their complex project division on an initial 6 month contract. The successful candidate will come into the team during a busy period and will lend expertise to a number of complex, politically sensitive projects in the Professional Services spend category.

This particular Government Department is currently going through a period of transition in the way that Procurement interacts with the rest of the business. Rather than the typical operational procurement function, the department is now becoming much more strategic in its business partner offering and is looking to move forward with a team of solid interim professionals to aid this transition.

This role will be responsible for;

-End to end procurement process.
-Data collection.
-Document preparation.
-Negotiation and contract award.
-Contract Management.
-Supplier Relationship management.
-Managing communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
-Communicating priorities and business plans to external and internal stakeholders whilst ensuring that all programmes and projects deliver on time and cost.
-Maintaining SLA/quality commitments.
