I am looking to hire a Senior Procurement Officer/Buyer for my public sector client

KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLE:

An annual procurement spend that is in excess of £1.1bn, covering a wide range of services and goods. The role of the Commercial Specialist is to undertake strategic procurement projects and category management in order to ensure best value and continuous improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
To manage LEAN end to end strategic, high value, procurement projects to deliver the Department's key objectives whilst complying with all relevant Government, EU and Departmental policies and regulations.
To identify opportunities using spend analysis and market intelligence to develop procurement/category strategies and to proactively engage and manage the relationship with key DH suppliers.
To support Civil Service Reform by developing, managing and monitoring benefits realisation including commercial savings and sustainability outcomes.
To work with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities to collaborate, achieve efficiencies and promote the procurement profession.
Comply with Civil Service policies and procedures, including ensuring any requests for input into Freedom of Information Requests and Parliamentary Questions are handled robustly and accurately.
Take on other duties and responsibilities as appropriate to the grade of the role as required.

Ideally, post holders should have full graduate membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).
