ROLE: - - Develop positive and productive relationships across the range of key stakeholders/contractors required to successfully deliver the procurement outcomes/requirements
- Create a work package description document, critical programme for delivery along with all necessary product descriptions
- Provide all necessary project management documentation relating to Procurement required in the leadership of the work package
- Play a productive and positive role in the project team
- Attend all relevant project team meetings
- Lead procurement meetings as designated ensuring appropriate governance for auditable minutes
- Ensure that all procurement project work undertaken can be audited and evidenced
- Work closely with central Procurement team taking guidance on specific issues where appropriate
- Coach and aim to transfer specific skills relating to construction procurement to other selected members of procurement team
REQUIRED SKILLS: - - Degree level or relevant academic qualification in procurement/commercial field.
- Extensive procurement experience of leading large complex projects including extensive knowledge and experience of construction contracts eg JCT & NEC
- Experience of the requirements of project management for complex procurements ideally in the public sector or have transferable private sector skills.
- Practical project management experience for complex constructions projects including knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Skilled procurement professional with relevant professional experience in construction procurement and project management including relevant qualifications eg CIPS & Prince II
- Sound knowledge and understanding of contract law
- Sound knowledge and experience of procuring under EU Procurement Legislation
- Experience and understanding of risk management
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to identify key information.
- Excellent leadership skills, able to confidently lead and develop procurement projects.
- Good organisational skills, able to prioritise, and communicate effectively.
