Senior Procurement Manager

My Public Sector client is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to work in either Plymouth or Nottingham for an initial 3 month contract.

Background: Provide full procurement support (pre and post contract) in the Property Solutions/Facilities Management category.

Key Tasks for the Senior Procurement Manager:
* Provide direct procurement support for management of major suppliers to the client
* Defining/delivering the contract management supplier strategy
* Liaison with service delivery manager and other stakeholders
* Work with supplier to create and maintain a joint risk register
* Offering advice and guidance on, or improving input into, writing work package orders and change orders in consultation with customers, challenging the specification where appropriate
* Provision of advice to service delivery manager on interpretation of contractual documentation
* Develop and implement performance measurement processes to ensure contracted service levels are met and value for money is achieved through life of the contract
* Identification and evaluation of commercial and supply issues
* Leading regular contract management meetings with suppliers, service delivery managers and other key stakeholders
* Overseeing the supplier relationship management & management of supplier intelligence information received.
* Developing the effectiveness of contract management operations under the principles of continuous improvement

Experience/Skills Required for the Senior Procurement Manager:
* Knowledge & understanding of Facilities and Estates procurement
* Must be a strong communicator able to deliver results by proactive, positive and persuasive means.
* Expertise in managing large contracts, supplier relationships and the supply chain
