SENIOR/PRINCIPAL CONFIGURATION ENGINEERS X 4- DEF STAN 05-57, SERENA DIMENSIONS, CONFIGURATION

Senior/Principal Configuration Engineers with DEF STAN 05-57, Serena Dimensions experience are required to work permanently for our Defence client based in Edinburgh.

These are permanent positions within a leading UK Defence Business.

OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR CONFIGURATION ENGINEER CONTRACT ROLE

Senior/Principal Configuration Engineers whose primary role is to manage delivery of Configuration engineering activities in a professional manner, and to provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers.

The individual will work under the guidance of the Principal Configuration Engineer

- To deliver Configuration engineering best practice to deliver optimized Configuration Engineering solutions into IPT's to meet requirements, at optimized cost.
- Provide technical guidance, leadership & technical direction.
- Development and coaching of engineers in terms of technical understanding, leadership, and simultaneous engineering within IPT's
- Set standards for behaviour's, technical leadership and quality of Configuration engineering Management and Project Data Control
- Work with Consortium Members

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE SENIOR CONFIGURATION ENGINEER

- Master Record Indexes
- Manufacturing Data Packs
- Change Board Management
- CMP Maintenance
- Change Control
- Extensive Configuration Management experience in the Defence Industry
- Excellent Knowledge of Configuration Management DEF STAN 05-57.
- Knowledge of EIA-649-A and NATO STANAG 4159 is an advantage.
- Serena Dimensions advantage
- IT literate - Use of Excel, Word and a Product Management Tool essential, preferably Teamcenter and SAP.
- Meticulous Record Keeping
- Experience of Customer and Supplier Audit an advantage
- Good Influencing and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of the 5 key elements of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Audit

The role is based in Edinburgh - commutable from Dundee, Perth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Glasgow.
