SOCIAL WORKER - ADOPTER ASSESSMENT - VARIOUS ESSEX LOCATIONS

PAY RATE: £32 PER HOUR LTD

ABOUT THE ROLE

Essex County Council is using its Adoption Reform Grant to bring radical changes to our capacity to recruit and assess prospective adopters. Our ambition is to approve 50% more adopter households, and place more children more quickly with permanent families. In addition we are investing in our post adoption support services to ensure adoptive children and families are well supported throughout their adoption journey.

This is an exciting time to join the Adoption Service inEssex. We are looking for skilled and experienced practitioners to undertake Prospective Adopter Reports and support adoption placements. You will be working within the teams for the Adoption Reform Grant to increase the number of adopter households approved within the year.

ABOUT THE ADOPTION SERVICE

The Adoption Service inEssexhas a solid reputation for good and innovative practice, and this was recognised by Ofsted in our inspection last year, which judged the service to be "Good, with Outstanding features". However we still have some work to do to ensure we continuously improve and meet the expectations set out in the Government's Action Plan for Adoption.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO JOIN OUR SOCIAL WORK TEAM

To play a key part in transforming the lives of children and families, you'll be a DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent graduate. This will be backed up by post-qualification experience as a children's Social Worker (experienced with Adoption or Fostering assessment and operating at Senior Practitioner level).
