For our client, a globally active firm headquartered in Germany we are looking to staff several (Senior) PowerBuilder Developer - Bratislava/Barcelona to start on 02 Mar, 2015

Job Description

* Develop using processes, procedures and tools provided
* Proactively collaborate in identifying eventual process gaps in development process and propose solutions
* Provide strategic and innovative vision for the design of a sustainable solution
* Identify operational inefficiencies, conflicting development practices and integration issues and propose solutions
* Provide technical coaching to other team members
* Participate in project team meetings, provide status and proactively highlight issues and concerns
* Proactively communicate any issues or concerns to the stakeholders
* Maintain and ensure that audit requirements and documentation procedures are followed
* Document all development activities following standards provided
* Ensure all testing activities are completed, assuring the delivery of the quality
* Understand business processes and business requirements

Must Haves

* Strong PowerBuilder programming skills
* Unit testing, mocks
* Very good T-SQL programming skills: queries, stored procedures, views, etc.
* Migration experience from PowerBuilder Classic to PowerBuilder .NET and ideally to .NET
* Migration experience from Sybase to Microsoft SQL
* Code refactoring
* Continuous Integration: automated builds
* Continuous Delivery: automated deployments
* Performance troubleshooting
* Strong knowledge of the products: PowerBuilder 12.5 Classic/.NET and above, ideally Visual Studio 2012 and above, TFS 2012, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and above
* Very good SCRUM knowledge, strong estimations skills and tasks slicing, act proactive, work alone and identify solutions for the day to day tasks, coach other junior team members (act as a mentor, coach, senior developer); be able to make suggestion to architects and best practices; present findings, assessments, documentation in a professional manner to the architects and development lead; strong tester perspective
* English is a must (good level spoken and written)

* Minimum 6 years of experience, ideally 8 years
* Ideally/optional PowerBuilder Developer Professional certification
