Senior Policy & Strategy Advisor

Our Local Authority Client in East Anglia is looking for an Interim Senior Policy and Strategy Advisor to provide expert support to the Heads of Policy and Strategy and to the Director of Communications and Strategy. They will provide insightful and innovative policy and strategy advice to Senior Officers, Members, and Commissioners.

Duties include:

* Support Members and Commissioners to define clear objectives and apply policy knowledge and advice relative to outcomes.
* Play a key part in providing policy support and advice to the Chief Executive's office and to the Leader and Cabinet Members in an advisor role, ensuring that they provide excellent briefing information and well reasoned, researched and informed policy advice.
* Able to influence policy direction on behalf of the organisation as well as interpreting, disseminating and enacting policy changes.
* Operate at a strategic level and in partnership with local government, central government Sector.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Degree in a related field, equivalent academic qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
* Previous Policy and Strategy advisor experience within the Public Sector.
* Expertise in policy and strategy.
* Evidence of project management skills and experience.
* The ability to deliver work within strict timeframes with minimal supervision.
* A strong analytical and research background.
* Excellent networking and communication skills.
* Ability to work with members and senior officers.
