GPMO - PMO Governance and Process Manager

Global organisation requires a GPMO Governance and Process Manager.

GPMO/GOVERNANCE/PROCESS/PMO MANAGER/STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Apply subject knowledge and professional experience manage and continuously improve a global programme and project methodology aligned to externally recognised best practise standards, including all process, tools and templates.
- Embed and champion the use of this programme/project methodology across all strategic programmes/projects, across all relevant areas of the business.
- Take responsibility for a global development programme for all programme and project managers, including quality assurance of external training and provision of internal training materials.
- Apply technical knowledge and experience to gate review key strategic projects holding business owners, programme and project managers to account in the application of expected programme and project management standards.
- Ensure all programme and project documentation, including financial data is accurate and accessible to key stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for setting up and closing down all strategic programmes and projects.
- Take responsibility for overseeing the effectiveness of governance across the change portfolio. This includes quality assurance and ensuring appropriateness of all reporting and meeting forums.
- Take responsibility for managing the continuing professional development and project management population including preparation and delivery of training materials, master classes, E-learning etc.
- Take responsibility for training and support provision for wider programme and project roles including business owners and sponsors.
- Take responsibility for leading specific innovations and improvements projects aimed at improving governance processes.
- Take responsibility for liaising with HR learning and development and senior management teams to ensure global programme and project management population are adequately trained to set of central standards.
- Manage the relationship with key stakeholders including business owners and members of functional leadership teams to ensure they are informed as to the status of the change portfolio.
- Manage the forecasting and management of resource allocation across the change portfolio
- Assist the GPMO to act as a partner to the business, supporting and facilitating strategic decision-making.
- Provide cross functional leadership by driving forward the company strategy and championing programme and project management disciplines.

PROBLEM SOLVING

- Able to identify and interpret aggregated issues/risks and succinctly escalate whilst recommending mitigating actions, where appropriate driving them through to completion
- Use comprehension of organisational strategy, own responsibility and how individual change programmes and projects contribute to these goals.

Decision Making

- Analyse information across multiple business functions and asses how individual projects contribute to companywide goals to act as an integral part of the decision making process in respect of business case validation and portfolio balance.
- Make quality assessment of programmes and projects managers and skills gaps.

Planning & Organising

- Exceptional planning and time management due to large number of complex and interdependent projects.
- Manage and coach virtual teams to ensure continued development of their programme and project management knowledge and skill set to drive high performance
- Act as a programme/project management expert for global business functions.

Influencing

- Excellent coaching skills and ability to provide mentoring and coaching support to project and programme managers.
- Use skills to influence Strategy Managers, IT management and business owners, programme and project managers and project teams in take up of project management best practise.

Communication

- Excellent communication at all levels from formal presentations to senior management to one-to-ones with project team members.
- Diplomacy and negotiation skills to enable communication of complex technical data and land difficult messages challenges to senior members of the business.
