Senior Planning Development Management Officer/Buckinghamshire

Role: Senior Planning Development Management Officer
Duration: 3-6 months
Rate: £200-£300 per day
Location: Buckinghamshire

I have an urgent opportunity for a Senior Planning Development Management Officer. As Senior Planning Development Management Officer you will be responsible for working with developers, agents, members, stakeholders, fellow County Council officers, the District Councils, Government agencies and others to process, advise on and determine planning applications, including those for the County Council's own development proposals.

This role encompasses all elements of the development management process including dealing with major county matter and county council planning applications, presenting at Development Committee meetings, undertaking site visits and monitoring the implementation of the decisions issued and taking appropriate action as necessary to ensure compliance.

Key Skills and Experience include:

*To manage a caseload of major minerals and waste and Regulation 3 planning applications from receipt to determination, including carrying out technical and professional analyses and evaluation of proposals for County Council and minerals and waste developments to assess them against development plan policies, Government guidance, consultation responses and other material considerations.
*The preparation of detailed reports to a good and accurate standard and presentation of accurate and authoritative advice to the Development Control Committee.
*To advise applicants, operators and their advisors on the Council's planning policies to ensure that submissions contain sufficient information to assess proposals in accordance with the Development Management Pre-application advice protocol (provide pre-application advice).
*To work with the Planning Advisory & Compliance Services team and other services, proactively participating in the development of policies that support sustainable development, economic growth and ensure that development is consistent with relevant standards and objectives.
*To monitor operational minerals and waste sites and attend liaison meetings as appropriate.
*To represent the County Council at Public Inquiries and Informal Hearings and ensure that appeal evidence is provided within agreed timescales.
*To coordinate and liaise with developers, agents, members, senior officers and other stakeholders on development related matters, engaging with local communities, communicating recommendations to developers, parish, town & district councils, councillors and the public as well as proactively managing the media in this respect.
