Senior Planner

- INITIAL 6 MONTH CONTRACT

Our client is seeking an experienced SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER to support the Project Manager with all aspects of precinct planning in their Planning and Delivery branch.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Review technical studies and translate recommendations into provisions leading to sound strategic planning outcomes
- Prepare complex planning reports using high level analytical and problem-solving skills
- Review planning provisions or controls relating to urban development in new release areas

YOUR BACKGROUND:

- Degree qualifications in a relevant area, such as town planning or related field
- At least 5 years in Strategic Planning
- Demonstrated understanding of the planning and policy procedures for sustainable urban development in NSW
- The ability to carry precinct planning and to develop appropriate urban development outcomes for new precincts taking into account financial resources, varying interests, and meeting tight time deadlines
- Working knowledge of the State environmental planning policy preparation process
- Sound understanding of infrastructure requirements, and the procedures for infrastructure planning and delivery
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external clients and stakeholders
