Senior PHP Developer/Symfony 2/Belgium/Dutch and or French

An excellent, contract opportunity for a French or Dutch speaking PHP Developer to join a reputable company based in Brussels, Belgium.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with Functional Analysts.
- Technical analyses based on the functional needs.
- Estimate the workload for the development and the associated budget.
- Responsible for the planning and development of web applications for both inter- and Intranet.
- Implement the requested change requests and corrections within the planned schedule.
- Ensure the integration of HTML/CSS/JS in collaboration with designers.
- Assist with testing: functional and performance tests.
- Preparation of technical documentation.

Technical skills:

- You have 5 to 10 years of experience in development with PHP.
- You have excellent knowledge of best practices in terms of developments and performance in PHP, Symfony (and eZ Publish is a plus).
- You have a good knowledge of: - Databases: MySQL/MariaDB, Orcale.
- Languages: JS, CSS, HTML, Shell Scripting.
- Protocols and formats used on the Web: XML (RDF, Sitemaps, XSL, Docbook)
- Web Services (SOAP, REST), media formats.
- Code organization: Design patterns, MVC, CQRS.
- Networking: TCP/IP, ISO/OSI model, proxies.
- Linux. - Git and patch format/utilities.
- Supporting software's: Apache, Nginx, Varnish, Memcache, StatsD.
- Auditing and Continuous Integration tools.
- Debugging and profiling tools & techniques (Xdebug, Wireshark, tcpdump, XHprof, MySQL Proxy).
- Problem-solving (algorithms, code complexity).
- You have started projects and set up a development environment (continuous integration, development guidelines, planning).
- Experience in coaching developers.
- Ability to express yourself in the second national language (FR/NL) and also have a good knowledge of English.
