Senior Perl Developer

Yoh has a (12) month plus contract opportunity for a SENIOR PERL DEVELOPER to join our client in Santa Monica, CA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Our Client is looking for someone who is interested in making a big impact as part of a small, dynamic team and is looking to have broad responsibilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Write Server Side code for web-based applications.
- Well-rounded engineers to create robust high-volume production applications.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors or Masters of Science (BS/MS) in Computer Science or related field/degree, and/or equivalent work experience.
- A solid foundation in computer science, with STRONG COMPETENCIES IN DATA STRUCTURES, ALGORITHMS, AND SOFTWARE DESIGN.
- Extensive programming experience in PERL/MOD_PERL.
- Several years of LARGE SCALE SYSTEMS DESIGN EXPERIENCE, WITH EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF UNIX/LINUX.
- PROFICIENT IN SQL AND SCHEMA DESIGN.
- Proficient in Object Oriented Design and development.
- Should also have a strong understanding of, and practical experience developing web apps in Perl.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- HTML: Mason or Template Toolkit experience
- JavaScript/Ajax frameworks experience.
- Ruby/Sinatra experience.
- Experience with open source software
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- C/C++/Objective-C, Java, Ruby, Python (strong OO skills preferred).
