SR. PERFORMANCE TEST ENGINEER

Skills:
LoadRunner 11.0 or above, web/HTTP protocols, thick and Thin Client applications, knowledge of C coding, HP ALM, Scripting/coding languages (VBScript, Java, C++, XML, .NET)

SUMMARY:

As the Sr. Performance Test Engineer you will be responsible for capturing performance requirements (Business, Application, Monitoring, User), designing and developing performance tests, and act as a performance consultant to the technology and development teams. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of automated testing experience; intermediate to expert level experience using LoadRunner with thick and Thin Client applications; and be skilled in diagnosing and solving complex problems and providing detailed technical analysis. In this role you will make recommendations on application design, and propose and implement process improvement. You will also be working with a team and oversee other performance team members. The initial contract will be for approximately 6 months with a possibility of being extended.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Records, parameterizes and debugs LoadRunner scripts
- Prepares test data and user scenarios
- Execute performance test
- Designs and sets up test scenarios in the Controller
- Capture environment metrics using analysis tools
- Analyzes and assesses performance risks through performance test results
- Assists systems, database and network teams to quantify their capacity needs proactively based on analysis
- Acts as a performance consultant to the technology and development teams
- Documents test procedures, analysis and results
- Reports performance test results in proper context for targeted audience
- Monitor and report on the progress of performance tasks

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to develop performance test framework
- Ability to communicate and demonstrate the value of performance testing to new audience
- Expert with LoadRunner 11.0 or above
- Intermediate to expert level experience using LoadRunner with web/HTTP protocol
- Intermediate to expert level experience using LoadRunner with thick and Thin Client applications
- Intermediate to expert level knowledge of C coding
- Beginner to intermediate level experience with one or more Scripting/coding languages (VBScript, Java, C++, XML, .NET)
- Strong analytical skills
- Skilled in diagnosing and solving complex problems and providing detail technical analysis
- Ability to manage several ongoing performance testing activities
- Ability to oversee performance test engineers
- Knowledgeable in automated application testing and application performance testing concepts
- In-depth knowledge of commercial load testing tools, specifically HP LoadRunner and the HP ALM Testing suite
- Detailed knowledge of LoadRunner functions, with a high level of proficiency in usage
- Ability to identify performance issues in applications
- Experience with Systems Administration
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be successful in a fast paced environment with multiple and changing priorities
- Works well within a team based environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent in experience
- 3-5 years of automated testing experience
