Projektbeschreibung

Participate in the Group Retirement Administration Services (RAS) Programme and be responsible for creating and maintaining all Oracle databases required for development, testing, UAT, production and DR usage.
Contribute to the successful outcomes of the Group RAS Programme and drive operational excellence post-production deployment of all Oracle database instances.
Performs all necessary capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
Performs all daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly maintenance and management tasks to ensure a healthy Oracle database eco-system.
The DBA will work closely with the Group System Administration Team to perform ongoing tuning of the database instances.
Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.
Plans and implements backup and recovery processes of all the Oracle databases.
Controls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes throughout the development life cycle.
Implements and enforces security for all of the Oracle Databases.
This will be achieved in close collaboration with the Group Systems Administration Team
Performs database re-organisations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of all the database instances.
Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance for the given database landscape.
The DBA will perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the standards are being adhered to.
Evaluates releases of all future database upgrades/versions including its tools, and 3rd party products to ensure tight integration with existing Oracle deployments for the Programme as well as BAU.
DBA is required to participate in a planning process as part of the Group SDLC, along with the application developers and System administrators, to ensure that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact.
Provides technical support to application development teams and acts as a single point of contact for Oracle database incidents, issues, enhancements, projects, etc.
Enforces and maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of all the databases.
Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
Troubleshoots incidents and problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
Creates new database users as required.
Manage sharing of resources amongst applications.
The DBA has ultimate responsibility for the physical database design.

The DBA should possess the following skills please:
Excellent working knowledge of operating system(s).
Excellent knowledge and technical expertise of physical database design.
Ability to perform both Oracle and also operating system performance monitoring and implement necessary adjustments.
Be able to provide a strategic Oracle database direction or roadmap for the Group
Excellent knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.
