I am looking to hire a Senior Operational Analyst for one of my government client. There are 2 openings for this role.

Please read the below job specification:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Proven ability to lead small teams.

Understanding of hard and soft OA techniques and their role in enabling Evidence Based Decision-Making within military.

Experience of effectively managing complex and competing workloads to deliver to required timescales.

Experience of supporting acquisition and capability management processes.

Experience of having worked in a Military, Defence or Security environment, or the three military services, especially the Army.

An understanding of the Front Line Commands, especially Capability Directorate Combat Support and Army 2020.

Specific domain knowledge can be learned whilst in post, however desirable to have Military Awareness, particularly in the Land environment.

Degree or equivalent relevant experience in a scientific, technology, engineering, operational analysis and mathematics discipline.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

Relevant post graduate qualification;

Working towards membership of a relevant professional body such as the Operational Research Society (ORS); Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Institute of Physics (IOP), Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA). Knowledge of Indirect Fire weapon systems and enabling systems.

Knowledge of hard and soft OA techniques typically employed to inform decisions.

Knowledge of the way undertakes capability planning.

Knowledge of the way procures capability.

Evidence of delivering projects to time, cost and quality.

Evidence of working with Industry/Academia.

Evidence of communication skills (both written and spoken)

ADDITIONAL INFO:

Two Senior Operational Analysts to join the Land Indirect Fire and Enabling Systems (LIFES) team within the Land Battlespace Systems Department (LBSD).

The successful candidates will lead and support projects investigating systems issues surrounding current Indirect Fire (IF) systems and the identification of IF systems needed as a result of current platforms going out of service.

The successful candidates will also support a number of procurement projects within the team's portfolio, ensuring that Business Cases being submitted to the Investment Approval Committee (IAC) are underpinned by sound analysis. To commit work to Extra Mural Research (EMR) in order to draw on the insights from Industry and potentially Academia. To act as a focal point for liaison with a wide range of customers appropriate to the specific areas of work.

This includes (but not limited to): Capability Directorate Combat Support (CD CS) and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S). To deliver sound operational analysis within customer reports.

Presenting to key stakeholders on the results of the analysis conducted. The individual will work on, lead and deliver small high impact studies, influencing both current and future military procurement programmes. These high impact studies directly contribute to the delivery of cutting edge, efficient and effective military capabilities and equipment's to support UK Defence and Security.
Team Leader for the Land Indirect Fire and Enabling Systems (LIFES) team.Responsible for Leading small study teams of 2-3 analysts.
