Senior Network Engineer - IP/Wireless/Cisco - CCNA/CCNP

Our leading tertiary provider can currently offer an experienced Senior Network Engineer the opportunity to join their team on an initial 12 month contract.

As the successful candidate you will be involved in upgrading wireless and wired Data and Voice network infrastructure where Research, Teaching & Learning can be enhanced through better network facilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Perform and supervise installation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of all aspects of the Communications Infrastructure
- Provide assistance and guidance to Network Engineers to implement the networks and systems required in data and wireless networking.
- Provide expert opinion and advice on operational changes and improvements of the voice and data network infrastructure
- Design, implementation and management of wireless infrastructure and systems
- Design, implementation and management of VOIP infrastructure and systems
- Provide effective consulting and support services to other ICT teams and leaders of client units, including advising them in their planning and use of Campus Network resources

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Tertiary qualifications in an Information and Communications Technology discipline, or extensive equivalent professional experiential learning, with extensive experience and expertise
- Strong experience in designing, installing, configuring and maintaining large enterprise Cisco-based environments
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols
- Excellent advanced knowledge of Cisco environments and technologies.
- Excellent advanced of Cisco VoIP technologies, including Call Manager, Unity, gateways and associated hardware and software
- Intimate knowledge of advanced routing and switching on Cisco devices
- Demonstrated knowledge of network security appliances [PIX/ASA/Checkpoint]
- ITIL Foundation Certification (Highly Desirable)
- Good knowledge of Cisco wireless appliances, protocols and technologies
- Cisco Certified Network Associate
- Cisco Certified Network Professional
