Senior Network Engineer - IP - MPLS - 12 Month Contract

My client, a global leading IT & Telecommunications company require a Senior Network Engineer for a 12 month contract based in Hampshire.

Working as a member of the EMEA Engineering team, this role is to implement IP and MPLS network solutions to deliver new services in new markets, support continuous DCN optimization activities as well as customer design engineering requests.

Responsibilities:

- To work as a member of one or more small project teams or individually as required, to develop, test and implement network solutions. Assignments will vary over time and will be agreed as part of personal objectives. Work areas include the Production and Control & Management networks.
- Focus on the configuration, test & turn-up and operational acceptance of new network elements using the appropriate processes and systems.
- To write Method of Procedures to facilitate migrations and network optimization work
- Act as EMEA Engineering lead on specific aspects of the client's network.
- Occasional Tier 4 network support required. Candidates will be expected to have a good all-round knowledge of computing, including UNIX, programming, database systems etc.

Successful candidates will also have previous CLI experience of at least one of the main hardware vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Brocade, Force10).
