SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER - BRAS needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Allen, Texas.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- As a Sr. Engineer within the IP Core Engineering organization, there are numerous responsibilities to support management, peers, co-workers, regional organizations and vendors.
- Included in these responsibilities is the day-to-day management of all network elements that encompass Core IP Network, which includes monitoring, addressing issues, regional Core backbone reviews/designs, circuit augments, development and execution of project plans.
- Development and execution of Project Plans.
- Participate in quarterly network reviews with regional engineering.
- Assist Core Capacity Engineers with circuit augments.
- Assist IP Core Planning or Core Architect Engineers, as requested.
- Perform network enhancements/upgrades, per IP Core Planning or Core Architect Engineers.
- Monitor IP Core network for issues, and take action to resolve.. Act as Tier 3 support for the NOC.
- Work with vendors to obtain quotes for projects.
- Prepare and present CRC documents.. Support the development of the annual capital budget.
- Support the development of the annual operating budget.
- Develop and implement plans to support sales, marketing and regulatory efforts.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure customer requests are completed by desired due dates.
- Utilize M6 to perform record validations.
- Travel as required.
- Prepare as-built engineering diagrams.
- Assist/mentor non-senior engineers.
- Develop engineering presentations, as requested.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills associated with evaluation, design and implementation of data and networks.
- Strong traffic engineering and network modelling skills. Have a strong understanding of ATM, DSL, Internet protocols (TCP/IP, BGP4, OSPF, Ethernet, MPLS, etc.).
- Understanding of IPv6
- Understanding of RSVP-TE, LDP, MPLS, L2VPN, and L3VPN
- Emphasis on Juniper E/MX B-RAS platform engineering utilizing DHCP, PPPoE, PPPoA.
- Knowledge of RADB (Routing Arbiter Data Base) functions.
- Experience with the following hardware: Cisco Routers, Juniper M/MX Series Routers, Cisco access Servers, Cisco Ethernet Switches.
- Experience with the following software: Radius, Cisco IOS, JunOS, NMS, HP Openview and UNIX processes and daemons.
- Able to fluently communicate plans, alternatives, and recommendations in both written and verbal form.
- Technical familiarity with Fiber Optic networks and SONET multiplexing.
- Technical familiarity with channel banks, multiplexers, DSX panels, digital cross connect systems.
- Possesses a working knowledge of statistical analysis fundamentals.
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio used for formulating reports and generating presentations.
- Service Provider experience preferred.
