Senior Network Engineer - Avaya - W.Yorkshire - £30 to 35,000

My West Yorkshire based client is urgently seeking a Senior Microsoft Network engineer for an exciting new permanent position.

They are at the early stages of what is planned to be vast growth over the coming year, and they would like an excellent Network engineer to be an integral part of it.

The successful candidate will have some public sector experience.

Within this role you will be required to deliver operational systems and new project development, and therefore any project management experience from bid writing to delivery and final report writing would be essential.

The ideal candidate would have technical knowledge suitable to provide effective support in the field of Microsoft networks and messaging systems, and the following technical experience is required:

~ Proven track record of supporting a multi-site Microsoft Enterprise.

~ Proven experience of supporting large LAN and WAN networks.

~ Experience of network switches including, Avaya, 3 Com, HP and Foundry.

~ Unified communications with Microsoft Exchange

In order to be successful, you must be able to show a proven understanding and experience in analysing upcoming trends and developments in the Network marketplace and utilising them for the benefit of the organisation.

This is a specialist role, and therefore in order to be considered, you must be able to show great technical understanding in the following:

~ Microsoft Active Directory

~ Windows 2008 Server

~ Exchange 2010 Email Servers

~ VMware Infrastructure

~ Avaya switches

~ Network Security

~ Linux Operating Systems

You must be a good all round candidate and show the ability to analyse, summarise, evaluate and communicate complex data. This will also include the ability to use initiative and be innovative in resolving issues.

As a senior member of staff, you must show excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and evidence of working collaboratively with others to improve practice. Therefore demonstrable record of success in a customer service working environment is key; along with evidence of successful development and maintenance of working relationships.

In addition to showing an excellent background commercially, the successful candidate must also have the following qualifications:

~ Minimum of Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) or able to demonstrate equivalent level of ability.

~ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration.

~ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Application Infrastructure Configuration.

~ Avaya ACA or Cisco CCNA
