Our high-visibility client is searching for an industry-leading Senior Network Engineer and to join their network team. We own the design, capacity management and scaling, availability, and operational excellence of the global networks.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Own architecture/design/scale of current and newly developing networks
- Drive the scaling of current network designs to meet the customer demand
- Work closely with internal customers on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to launch
- Create and update network standards and ensure that the network adheres to these standards
- Work closely with automation and monitoring teams to assist in defining the tools required
- Drive and support innovation from the NIC to the core
- Drive operational excellence projects delivering improvements in network quality and reliability
- Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day-to-day on the network
- Work with a wide range of complex technologies
- Review and implement changes on the network
- Participate in developing RFPs based on requirements, sets up vendor conferences, evaluates bids and recommends the selected network services or products to the appropriate management entity
- Meets with vendors to discuss product offerings, addresses technical issues/deficiencies and influences new products and services to meet growing and changing requirements
- Leads, coaches, and mentors other team members
- Performs cross-training and facilitates information sharing among team members

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Significant experience designing large scale Cisco secured, routed, and switched networks, 5 years
- Extensive knowledge and industry experience in design, configuration, and management of network security technologies including but not limited to Cisco ASA, FWSM, and Access Control Lists, 8 years
- In-depth knowledge of and significant experience with major Internet protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, TCP, 5 years
- Background in large scale datacenter network design, 5 years
- Must be comfortable working in a highly virtualized (network and system) environment, 3 years
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with major Router platforms; specifically with Cisco 39xx, 45xx, 65xx, ASR1xx, Nexus 5K, 7K including all compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms, 5 years
- Significant experience with, and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: DWDM, T1/DS1, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4, IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC, VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP, 8 years
- Technical and operational knowledge of network services including F5 and WAN acceleration technologies, 3 years
- Software development/programming/Scripting skills are highly desired specifically Python, Ruby, or Perl, 1 year
- Must be willing to support an off-hours, engagement only pager rotation
- Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Highly autonomous, very detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers is required, as well as experience initiating, driving and managing in-event conference calls
- Desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment required
- Relevant degree in a related technical discipline or at least five years relevant experience in a large-scale network operations environment preferred
- Effective prioritization and time management
