SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER GARLAND, TX CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

SUMMARY: Ensures the company-wide stability and integrity of voice, data, video and wireless network services by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Plans, designs and coordinates the various components of an enterprise network system.
- Participates in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
- Conducts on-going network system audits to evaluate the utility and efficiency of the system's hardware, software, and communications components and the effectiveness in meeting management information needs.
- Oversees installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of user Workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Manages network hardware and protocols for all LANs.
- Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Monitors and tests network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
- May be responsible for reviewing technical support documents relating to incoming calls and resolution of problems.
- Oversees new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Perform server and security audits, and system backup and recovery.
- Interacts and negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
- Adheres to appropriate Risk Management Policies.
- Adheres to appropriate Compliance policies and procedures.
- Adheres to Bank Secrecy Act.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Generally provides supervision limited to leadership, training and support to less experienced Network
- Engineers and other staff members.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or equivalent and Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Information Technology or
- Computing; a minimum of 5 years computer networking experience
- OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved

LANGUAGE SKILLS

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

REASONING ABILITY

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software installation to include network systems and Microsoft software
- Proven experience and success with LAN and WAN design and implementation
- Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
- Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC Operating systems, including Cisco ASA, Router and switch, and Windows-based applications and technology
- Excellent knowledge of telephony systems, including NEC phone system maintenance and VOIP hardware systems
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including TCPIP, encryption, and VLAN creation and maintenance
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience
- Extensive application support experience with Cisco
- Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits
- Certifications in Microsoft Systems or other computer systems (MCSE, CCNP, CCNA, MCSD)

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, including banking data security requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to cross train in other areas to provide both personnel backup and technical support assistance as required

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

- On-call availability for 2 days per month
- Occasional after hours work required
- Occasional travel at inter and intra state levels
