Senior Network Engineer

My Client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team on a 6 month Contract in the heart of London.

The Senior IP/VoIP Network Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance and support of LAN, WAN, VoIP and TDM infrastructure. Key duties include, but limited to:

Provide high-level technical support for voice and data network systems (remotely, on-site and at data centres)
*

Produce and maintain high industry-standard collateral (e.g. network architecture documentation, high & low-level design, case studies, technical reports, processes, etc).
*

Hardware and software maintenance.
*

Proactively identify upgrade and expansion needs, based on on-going network monitoring and business needs.
*

Active contribution to key projects assigned (e.g. upgrade, expansion, design review, etc)
*

Network Troubleshooting

Idea Candidate:

*

The Snr Network Engineer would have 10+ year experience and must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, TDM media gateways, VoIP switches, network security devices and network management systems.
*

Sound knowledge of LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways and firewalls.
*

In-depth knowledge of TDM/VoIP communications, media gateways, soft-switches, Multiplexers, etc.
*

Detailed knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
*

Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like MPLS, VPLS, MLA VPNs and Traffic Engineering.
*

Cisco / Juniper certifications CCNP, CCIP, etc
*

Project management skills/experience
*

IT Service Management Skills/experience

*

Educated to a University degree, preferably in Telecom/Electronic Engineering.
*

Candidate must be a team player and able to follow processes and procedures.
*

Self-disciplined, self-starter, professional who can successfully bring projects to closure with minimum direction, guidance and oversight.
*

The ability to communicate clearly with your colleagues and challenge them to do their best.
*

Ability to own the technical dialogue with customers, partners and 3rd Party vendors at all levels.
*

Experience in leading a team is a plus
*

Experience in the following is highly desirable:

*

Cisco routers supporting BGP, OSPF, MPLS protocol
*

Sniffer, Wireshark
*

Sonicwall Firewall
*

TelcoBridge Media Gateways
*

VOIP/SS7
