Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA Required for Short Term Contract - ASA

SENIOR MICROSOFT SQL SERVER DBA REQUIRED FOR SHORT TERM CONTRACT - ASAP START
This client, a key FMCG player, is urgently looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA to take on a short term dual role, that of Senior DBA and also to review the systems, and make recommendations for optimisation of the systems.
Technical environment: SQL Server 2008 R2 environment and SQL 2012, Hyper V Clusters 2012.
This organisation have done extensive testing on their systems, following major upgrades over the last 18 months. You will be required to look at optimisation and performance, what tasks need to be implemented.
YOUR ROLE:
- Review the company's architecture and system performance issues, and make relevant recommendations and planning for improvements for the business.
- Administering, maintaining, developing and recommending policies and procedures for ensuring the performance, availability, security and integrity of the company's databases and systems.
- Provide database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies with MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 in a production environment.
- Identifying and resolving database performance issues, database capacity issues and other database issues.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2012.
AT THE END OF THIS CONTRACT YOU WILL HAVE:
- Developed database maintenance plans
- Make recommendations on long running queries to be optimised
- Will have reviewed the architecture with the database platform across 6-7 environments the company have - an honest view of what's working well and what needs to be improved.
- Have implemented plans of recommendation around performance and stability of the systems.
