Sr Meeting Planner

Description:

As a Sr. Meeting Planner, you'll lead, manage, and successfully execute integrated event marketing strategies that build internal and external commitment to our brand while meeting business partner objectives.

You'll conceive, develop, manage, and oversee execution of integrated event marketing projects including defining objectives, communication strategies, and plan execution. You'll ensure that regional and corporate marketing objectives are achieved within budgetary guidelines.

You'll lead the coordination and integration of internal, cross-functional internal resources and oversee all aspects of our presence at events. You'll implement project management practices to enhance quality standards as they pertain to event execution. You'll negotiate contracts with outside vendors such as hotels and production companies.

You'll also lead, cultivate, and mentor cross functional project team members by providing direction, inspiration, resources, and communication to maximize effectiveness of event planning and execution processes. You'll establish team goals, clarify expectations, and monitor performance with clear and timely feedback to ensure efficiency.

You'll act as liaison between our team and other business lines to ensure that event marketing efforts meet goals and expectations, tie into corporate initiatives, and support brand messages. You'll actively participate in business planning, budget preparation, theme and agenda development, planning schedules, operations, and staffing.

Take an elevated role as required when working on programs that involve consumer/customer engagement and marketing strategies.

Serve as a key thought partner for your business partners; bringing forth marketing opportunities for consideration.

Manage a portfolio of events, often simultaneously, keeping accurate track of all milestones, client needs, and project deliverables.

Work directly with internal clients (business partners) to develop an overall event plan that meets financial and strategic objectives, and is consistent with department guidelines.

Engage closely with each business partner and cross functional teams to help determine the meeting themes, site selection and special event activities that support objectives.

Build and influence key relationships; as a leader in the department, with senior leadership, and as a highly visible interface within the larger organization.

Lead logistics planning and execution within a mutually agreeable project timeline.

Join complex planning teams as a co-lead or team member with a specific functional responsibility such as food and beverage; production; registration; trade show or webinar management.

Make strong, informed recommendations to business partners using strategic, industry leading event practices.

Interface with event marketing design team for the development of registration websites, invitations, speaker presentations and all other collateral.

Coordinate AV technical support, production and staging for meetings and events.

Requirements:

Prior experience of at least 5-7 years as a full time Corporate Sr. Planner or equivalent is required.

Specifically looking for candidate with knowledge and experience with Experiential Marketing, Consumer Marketing and Marketing Strategy as it pertains to events.

Must have strong tradeshow activation and sponsorship experience. This would include demonstrated experience in branding and consulting on the event experience.

Be able to find and track data for solid metrics with consumer/customer facing programs.

Demonstrate a high level of expertise and professionalism as a regular ambassador to: the larger marketing communications organization; brand advertising; sales and account management; national public relations; regional public affairs and internal leaders.

Manage and track budgets, monitor meeting and event expenditures to stay within or below budget.

Initiate and negotiate contracts and proposals with vendors or sponsors on behalf of clients.

Drive outcomes of complex, high visibility projects that may entail multiple work streams and demonstrate a strong understanding of the business they support.

Travel on-site as the lead planner or team member to ensure flawless event execution, team management and client satisfaction.

Bachelor's degree is required in Communications, Marketing or Hotel Management.

CMP, CMM certified preferred

Other related experience includes health care project management, non-profit fundraising, marketing, communications, hotel or convention services, trade show and exhibition services.

You must also demonstrate:

. Interest and experience working extended hours and with frequent travel as needed
