Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is seeking a talented and experienced media relations professional to lead on compelling media campaigns and oversee proactive and reactive media relations for the Department of Place.

You will be responsible for providing a full media relations service for the Department of Place through a forward thinking approach to building and enhancing the organisation's reputation; including working closely with the Council's Cabinet Members, Departmental Management Team and external partners and stakeholders.

You will lead on positive PR and communications campaigns on behalf of the Department for Place including, but not exclusively, Waste Management; Major Infrastructure improvementsand manage social media channels as part of related PR and communications campaigns.

ABOUT YOU
You will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good news sense and an aptitude for developing strong relationships with media contacts.
