Senior Mechanical Project Engineer - Building Services

AASL Recruitment are acting on behalf of their client who are a Mechanical & Electrical Contractors who provide a comprehensive service throughout all sectors of the construction industry and whose services include the supply, installation and commissioning of Mechanical & Electrical Services, value management, advice on alternative design solutions and turnkey contracts

They are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in London

The role

The appointed candidate will be working on the relevant project, responsible for Mechanical Engineering designs (mainly plumbing) and technical advice and guidance to all parties involved in the project to ensure successful completion

Key responsibilities

·Prepare and develop calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications and other documents relating to the project's designs

·Produce details of specifications and outline designs

·Produce technical documents to aid in the commissioning process of the project

·Where required by project leader, take responsibility for specific areas of the design and project development

·Test and evaluate theoretical designs, implement any initiative needed to suit client's needs

·Assist in compilation of final project documentation and safety file/submittal information, ensuring inclusion into Operation and Maintenance Manuals

·Work in close collaboration with other engineers, project managers, suppliers, site installations and construction teams

·Attend internal and external review and progress meetings

·Ensuring quality and success of all designs and technical issues of the projects

·Attend projects' sites and works testing

·Arrange and deliver client training on relevant design and technical issues

·Maintain the company's confidential information policy

·Build relationships with all parties involved in the project and maintain effective team communication and cooperation for successful project completion

Skills and experience required

·HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering are essential

·Minimum 5 years Mechanical Project Engineering experience for Commercial/Residential projects, preferably within the design and build sector

·Experience in the use of computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents (HEVACOMP preferable)

·Professional membership (either C Eng or I Eng) of an appropriate engineering institution is desirable

·High levels of Commercial and Energy Saving Schemes awareness

·Excellent communication and relationship management skills

·Proficient in MS Office and technical drawing skills

·Self-motivated and a high level of professionalism

·The ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time

Salary on offer is £20 - £25 p/hour depending on experience. This is Contract work, duration is around 2-3 months
