Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer

Sitec are currently looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer for a nuclear MoD establishment based in Reading. The position is for an estimated 12 month contract and is paying circa 30.00 - 45.00 on an hourly basis.

Rate - Up to 45.00per hour

Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment

Job/Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to assist with the front end design of ventilation systems

Key Accountabilities:
* Ensure adequate design/quality in the following HVAC areas; Concept Design, Optioneering, Detailed Design, Manufacture, Process Integration
* Ensure quality of Nuclear Ventilation and Building Services engineering and compliance with the project process and procedures

Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out HVAC engineering support and advice as requested
* Undertake HVAC design tasks and provide support to Engineering Managers and deliver appropriate designs to agreed time, cost and quality requirements
* Carry out mechanical HVAC design activities, identify and define the requirements for the systems for the project
* Provide advice and answer technical queries on matters relating to appointed discipline
* Contribute to integrated safety when producing engineering designs

Qualifications:
* Degree (BSc, BEng) or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
* Chartered Engineer
* Full member of an appropriate professional Institute

Knowledge
* Relevant Statutory Instruments e.g. Construction Design Management Regulations
* Relevant national and international design codes and standards
* Design, construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance practices/requirements in the context of regulatory scrutiny on a nuclear site

Experience:
* Relevant experience in the design, installation, commissioning and use of HVAC and Building Services
* Experience of design, installation and use of nuclear ventilation systems welcomed
