Senior Mechanical Engineer

Yoh Services has a great contract opportunity for a SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER to join our client located in Auburn Hills, MI. Potential for permanent hire after six (6) months. Max duration is 12 months.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mechanical Engineer to primarily support the packaging design and development of Transmission Control Electronics. The variety of packaging designs can include external, internal and sensor cluster Transmission Electronic Controls.
- Provide design support at factories working closely with supplier quality and process engineers. Responsible for working on a multi-functional team to design and develop electronic housings, covers, lead frames and sealing methodology to meet the customer functional, timing and project quoted cost targets.
- Engineer will closely coordinate with the technical project leader to ensure all internal and customer requirements are met.
- The engineer is responsible for the typical activities in development, such as: requirements management, concept development, DFMEAs, tolerance analysis, engineering evaluation testing, CAD Design (ProE), supplier interface design consideration, and product validation support.
- The engineer will also be responsible to utilize packaging platform strategies which consider reuse and design for manufacturing.
- Lead mechanical engineering project team responsible for meeting technical design requirements and project deliverable.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four plus (4+) years experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- BSME required.
- Experience with creating FMEAs and tolerance analysis.
- CAD. Experience with Pro-E.
- Engineering for the automotive market Engineering of electronic packaging is preferred, but not a requirement.
- Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and how to apply to product designs.
- Experience with Hydraulic design of valves, pumps or manifolds Capabilities.
- Self motivated individual that can take some direction, conceptualize and create robust designs that meet the application needs.
- Travel expectation to customer, Chicago IL area, Mechanical Design Center, and suppliers, 50% minimum.
