Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a skilled Senior Project Engineer to function as an owners engineer performing engineering on site focused around coordinating and executing plant capital projects. These projects will be in a food manufacturing facility and prior experience in such a facility is highly desired although relevant Project Engineering experience in a pharmaceutical, specialty chemical or refinery will also be considered. There are two positions available, one in the Dallas,TX Metro area a one in the Kansas City, MO Metro area. Both positions are contracts slated to last 9-12 months. Our client is requesting only regional candidates at this time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support Client in planning, organizing and controlling projects; including monitoring scope, schedule, quality and budget and directing technical aspects of the project.
- Responsible for defining the work scope for construction contractors and preparing schedules and budgets.
- Monitoring construction progress.
- Update, inform and clarify potential problems and project needs.
- Identify and define scope changes in a timely manner; develop Engineering Change notices.

REQUIREMENTS

- A prior installation and design requirement for a food facility is highly desired. Relevant experience in a pharmaceutical, specialty chemical facility or refinery will be considered.
- Direct experience in process and packaging in the area of high speed liquid packaging systems and process operations is highly preferred.
- A BS in Engineering is required and a PE License is highly desired but not required.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Project is a must.
- Ability to read and mark-up P&ID's.
- Some proficiency in Access, AutoCAD/ MicroStation is preferred
