SR. LINUX SYSTEMS ENGINEER

SUMMARY:

Our client is a $10 billion dollar global leader focused on the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery with over 2000 dealers and 20,000 users globally. The Sr. Systems Engineer will be assisting the company in taking over the support function for all Servers from HP and standing up the processes and infrastructure to support North America and Europe internally. The company is in the process of standing up support groups to support both Europe and US and this position will be the first here in the US to support the transition. Needs to be a Linux, VM Ware guru!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serve as the SME on Linux/VM Ware and provide senior level support on all Linux Servers running VM Ware
- Assist in the planning and execution of moving from Intel to Cisco hardware and from AIX to Linux OS
- Provide support as needed to move from Flex Net running on Oracle to SQL Server and Oracle databases (this person will not be the primary DBA)

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7+ years of IT Operations/Engineering experience in a Unix environment
- 5+ years of experience in Linux
- 5+ years of experience in VM Ware
- Experience using Ubuntu, P Series (AIX) EMC and Windows a plus!
- Bachelor's Degree
- Global IT experience a plus!
