Senior Linux Engineer

Our customer a well established financial institute based in Zurich are looking for a Senior Linux Engineer to carry out the following tasks.

Responsibilities

* Install and configure Linux hosts
* Create, deploy, and manage virtual hosts using VMware
* Deploy, configure, and manage multiple Apache and Tomcat installations
* Automate common tasks using Perl, Bash, etc.
* Troubleshoot performance issues within the application, web and database tiers
* Find creative solutions to ever-changing technical hurdles
* Ability to multi-task on several projects at the same time
* Ability to own projects, proactively driving them to completion within timelines
* Ability to quickly learn, and adapt new technologies to our infrastructure
* Use knowledge of open source/existing software to adapt solutions
* Design and deploy existing and new enterprise technologies

Qualifications

* RHEL 5.x/6.x certified or equivalent experience.
* 7+ years of relevant UNIX system administration with main focus on Linux.
* Experience working with networking or communication devices.
* Experience using and creating common automation tasks with Perl, Python, and Shell Scripts.
* Strong knowledge of Storage: EMC SAN, NAS, etc.
* Candidate must have solid troubleshooting skills: Network, Storage, Resource consumption, etc.

The ideal candidate should have fluent German language skills and be available for interviews within two weeks.
