Senior Level SAN Storage Administrator

Our prestigious client is looking for a SENIOR LEVEL SAN STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR with background in designing/implementation/managing storage environments in a datacenter design that provides for geographic diverse locations and would have the required skillsets to implement the described project.

THE PROJECT

This organization is embarking on a project that will replace existing HP P9500 and HP XP24000 storage arrays with new Hitachi VSP's storage arrays located in geographically diverse locations. Each Hitachi VSP will be fronted with newly purchased EMC Vplex virtualization engines that will facilitate replication between sites. This project will also entail replacing existing HP EVA's with new Hitachi HUS VM's also located in geographically diverse locations.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Network infrastructure at both datacenter locations is to be upgraded with Cisco Nexus technology in a 7000-5000-2000 configuration. Fibre channel infrastructure is Cisco 9000 series Switches in a redundant configuration at each site. The client owns and maintains private network links between the two sites using Eknops WDM equipment with multiple 10 gig IP links and 8 gig fibre links. Tier 1 storage is being upgraded to Hitachi's VSP platform and is going to be fronted by EMC's Vplex technology. NAS environment is made up of a Netapp V series with replication between two sites. The backup solution is IBM Tivoli which uses approximately 1PB storage (RAW) as cache instead of writing to tape. Backup storage is comprised of Nexsan Satabeast storage.

- Must be able to work in both a team environment as well as a self-contributor in meeting all project related goals.
- Must have experience in disaster recovery techniques, reporting, testing, etc.
- Broad scope of technical capabilities that will enable them to handle all aspects of storage management as well as communicate and discuss technical design issues and problem resolution with Application and System Administrators
