Senior Legal Adviser (Child Care)

PURPOSE OF JOB

The primary purpose of this post is to promote legal advice and services in respect of work falling within the remit of the team, particularly that relating to Social Services (Child Care). As one of a team to contribute to the general management development and review of the Team and Unit both in terms of services provided and staff in accordance with the Council's Vision and Values, policy and other objectives. In doing this to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

(a) Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (or in exceptional circumstances Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with a wide and substantial experience of relevant Local Government Law and practice, likely to be a minimum of 3 years working without supervision in any one or more of the specific work areas allocated to the Team).

EXPERIENCE

1 years Post Qualification experience of acting in Children Act cases.
