Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR LAB SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our client in DuPont, WA.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Senior Lab Systems Engineer will set up systems.
- Senior Lab Systems Engineer conduct failure analysis of reference platforms/system
- Senior Lab Systems Engineer will verify functionality of systems by running test suites and/or OS'es
- Senior Lab Systems Engineer will be responsible for Updating hardware as needed by each program as a guideline this includes.
- Other duties include: Initial bring up of platforms, upgrading silicon pieces, re-configuration based on developer needs, providing the weekly Platform team system health report
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience of system level troubleshooting.
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience of in-depth familiarity with Server/PC software installation, configuring and failure analysis as required, Window and multiple Linux OS environments.
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience of operational understanding of Processor based Server Reference systems and PC Host systems hardware enabling installing, configuring and performing failure analysis as required with minimal direction.
- Experience and discipline in running an engineering level lab. With proven experience with Electro-static handling safety handling Silicon parts.
- Must be able to perform system validation and checkout to ensure development systems integrate.
- Excellent knowledge of IT networks technology.
- Cross disciplinary understanding of system engineering and firmware development
Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Good understanding of PC and/or Server architecture
- Solid understanding of IPMI, SNMP and similar manageability technologies
- Experience Microsoft and Linux datacenter applications (Mail, Database, Web, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, QEMU, etc.)
- Experience assembling server hardware to bring up new sever/Workstation systems
- Experience with Flash Programmers, network and SMBus Protocol Analyzers.
- Knowledge of PC/Server architecture, microprocessors, I2C bus, and memory technologies are preferred.
