Senior, L3 Vital-QIP Engineer - Leading Investment Bank

EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR AN IPAM, VITALQIP, ENGINEER
Our Investment Banking client is undertaking a program of work involving the management and migration of a Alcatel Lucent, VitalQIP environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- all aspects of design, deployment, migration and operations of DNS-DHCP-NTP.
- work closely with the Global IPAM team and PMs to ensure that all deployments and migrates are completed successfully and that standard processes and best practices are followed.
- ensure appropriate documentation is created and maintained.
- provide design and L3 support to the VitalQIP environment
- be part of the Global IPAM escalation contact for deployment and infrastructure issues
- reviews all VitalQIP DNS, DHCP, NTP and IPAM deployment designs
- ensures Bank Standards and Policies are applied and adhered to
- normal working hours, which may include evenings, on-call rotation and some weekends
qualifications
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- strong VitalQIP, DNS and DHCP troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- in-depth understanding of current versions of VitalQIP DNS, DHCP, NTP and IP Management
- working understanding of Sybase SQL
- has a high-level understanding of IP network routing and Firewalls
- has competent knowledge of core network technologies and TCP/IP
- understands and uses UNIX (Linux and Solaris) and UNIX system tools (including VI editor) with a strong proficiency
- familiar with Shell and or Perl Scripting
- has solid analytical, written, verbal communication skills, detail-oriented, and acts in a professional manner
- understands teamwork, and is able to work with customers, delivery teams, managers, and teammates, even when under pressure
KEY SKILLS: Vital-QIP, DNS, DHCP, IP, Perl, Sybase SQL
