Senior Java Programmer

Proteus Europe is searching for a Senior Java Programmer for one of our clients based in Brussels.

Languages Required:
- French/Dutch: active knowledge (understanding/speaking/writing technical documentation/reading) of one language and passive knowledge (understanding/reading) of the second one.
- English (writing technical documentation and understanding/reading): active knowledge.

Our client is an international consultancy with a reputation for delivering on projects with their consultancy customers. You will join and be part of their team to ensure this current project is a complete success.

Your New role:-

The consultant will work within development teams

- For creating or modifying critical application systems supporting the NBB business domains,
- For supporting other development teams, from a shared pool of development experts, responsible to develop generic (technical) components, provide guidelines; maintain software factory, selection and integration of development frameworks, coach developers, and review application code.

Concrete tasks:
- Develop application components.
- Design application components (in close collaboration with team members).
- Analyse and propose solutions for technical problems.
- If required, take on the role of technical lead in a development project responsible also for the technical release management.
- Work together with functional analysts, IT architects and operations.
- Coach team members in the used development frameworks and tools, team work habits, principles and guidelines as used in the NBB.

The candidate will prove his/her high level of skills and great reliability.

Your Skills and experience:-

Essential Skills :-
- Deep technical knowledge and practical experience of required technologies (below). Being able to quickly use and coach other new technologies needed in the scope of his/her work.
- Being able to introduce work habits like Scrum/Kanban, test-driven development, continuous integration, interface based development etc ...
- J2SE/J2EE experience and having the spirit of Open Source tools and libraries.
- Strong design skills.

Technologies:
- Spring Framework.
- JPA (with Hibernate as implementation).
- Web Services.
- Experience with relational database (Oracle, ...) and O/R mapping.
- Java Server Faces.
- Spring WebFlow.
- Angular (JS).
- Spring modules like Spring Batch and Spring Security.
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
- JUnit.
- XML.

Desirable Skills:-
- Experience in applying AOP.
- Experience with RichFaces and/or PrimeFaces.
- Experience with Maven, SVN and Eclipse.
- Experience with message driven Beans (by preference by using Spring JMS).
- XBRL.
