Omschrijving Senior Java Developer (QR3435) :
For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for an excellent engineer specialized in host-to-host communication, to strength our DevOps teams responsible for the Global Digital Channels.

You will be primarily contributing to the InsideBusiness Connect platform, a host-to-host file transfer solution for the automated processing of large volumes of payment orders from commercial customers, and the provision of reports back to them. Your work will involve delivering IT solutions and actively participating in the onboarding of new customers. In addition, you are expected to contribute to continuous delivery and continuous integration practices.

You will work in the dynamic and challenging environment of the IT organization. We operate according to a Scrum Agile development process and strongly believe in the DevOps approach to delivering IT solutions. The focus is on high-quality mission-critical software delivered in time using iterative development with regular milestone demos to the business, so that at the end there are no surprises about what we build.

Feature delivery is driven by the priorities determined by the Business and Product Owners, working on a day-to-day basis with the IT organization to ensure the delivery optimal added value.

The main engineering challenges addressed at all times by our DevOps are:
target meeting the appropriate availability, integrity and confidentiality our stakeholders expect
consider the outcome of prioritization processes and related dependencies
handle software evolution, isolated or throughout chains of systems
perform meaningful testing for several relevant goals (e.g. regression, user acceptance, and performance)
aim at improving time-to-market and added business value

Your personal profile Senior Java Developer (QR3435)
Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
You love technology and naturally stay up-to-date on relevant new developments.
You have a strong customer-centric mindset, helping our company to excel in onboarding customers (responding to their expectations and needs)
At least 3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in creating high scalability mission-critical applications.
You are able to develop efficient and maintainable code with the right balance between solving the problem at hand and not over-engineering your solution.
Advanced knowledge of Java (including BouncyCastle, file systems, and JCraft).
You have experience with Bash and at least one modern scripting language (e.g. python)
Sound knowledge of encryption and hashing mechanisms (e.g. PKI, RSA, SHA, DES, AES).
Sound knowledge of communication protocols (e.g SFTP, FTPS and AS2).
Sound knowledge of connectivity, firewalls, proxies, and VPNs.
Good knowledge OS fundamentals, with the ability to apply it in the context of modern operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows 2008/2012).
Good knowledge of AngularJS, JSON and Javascript is preferred.
Good knowledge of data bases and working experience with Oracle is preferred.
Experience with packaging/deployment for different platforms, including Windows and Linux (RPM), is preferred.
Familiarity with several tools to support continuous delivery and continuous integration, such as Gitblit, Jenkins, Maven, and Nolio, is preferred.
You are proactive, perseverant and value a multi-cultural work environment
You have the ability to work independently and together with your own team, being also capable to efficiently align with other internal parties or external customers
You have very good analytical and problem solving skills
You are proficient in English and Dutch
