Senior Java Developer (M19)

- 6 month + extension contract attractive day rate.
- Financial Services company require a gun Java Developer
- Java stack, XSLT and Hibernate/Spring 

Financial Services software house require an experienced Java Developer for a 6 month contract. The Senior Developer will operate across the full SDLC activities required, including assisting in development planning, unit test automation and coding.  The developer will bring sound programming expertise developed through hands-on experience in complex development tasks and the ability to deliver in a challenging time-frame.

Ensure that all Java SE and EE based components are developed using best practices and take full advantage of leading development and deployment tools including open source

MANDATORY TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Strong JAVA SE 5, esp generics, collections, etc required.
- SWING development experience would be an advantage as would SPRING and HIBERNATE
- Strong JAVA EE 5, ESP JPA, JAX-WS, JAXB 2, EJB 3, JMS, JDBC and Servlets required.
- Test Driven Development using JUnit
- Build Automation (Maven 2, Ant, Hudson, Cruise Control, etc)
- Eclipse 3.x IDE Java and JEE required
- Subversion or CVS (including merging, branching, tagging, etc)
- Code Quality tools (Checkstyle, Cobertura, etc)
- Experience designing and developing SOAP Web Services
- WINDOWS and UNIX/LINUX development experience
- Knowledge and use of open source technologies
- Experience in Object Oriented Design principles including UML
- Experience in the design and development of complex windows and web based applications

DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Knowledge of financial services would be an advantage, particularly risk management tools and practices
- Experience of databases particularly Oracle and SQL Server
- Knowledge of design patterns
