Senior Java Developer - English Speaking Contract in Giubiasco, Switze

For a global bank based here in Switzerland we are looking for a Java Developer to work in a contract in the Italian part of Switzerland. You will further develop and enhance the Investment bank's trading system.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES:

- A core Java developer with 7+ years experience
- Minimum of 5 years of DB experience (Sybase preferred)
- Experience with common Java frameworks eg Spring
- Knowledge and understanding of current best practices in Java development
- Demonstrable experience of good OO design and programming
- Experience with all phases of the systems development life cycle
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Mentioning experience, especially with developers in different locations
- Understanding of standard change control policies and procedures and ideally experience working in an IT environment with change control procedures
- Experience with Financial products - specifically FX and OTC derivatives products - would be advantageous

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

- Awareness of test-driven development and design
- Experience of working in a continuous integration environment (TeamCity)
- Experience with low-latency, Server Side Java development
- Experience with Oracle Coherence
- Experience in C++ would be advantageous
- Experience with JMS
- Experience with Sybase ASE (15)
- Experience with JMX
- Business knowledge of Credit Risk
- Experience with source control (preferably Subversion)
- Experience with UNIX (Linux/AIX/Solaris)
