Senior Java Developer

My City Centre Client are looking for a strong Java developer for an initial 6 months.

The following candidate is highly desirable

You should have significant experience in building and maintaining scalable services and with integrating these services with a diverse Legacy product suite as well as mobile and web based clients.

Your role:
- Design, build unit test and support services in an agile environment
- Integrate services with Legacy systems and APIs and provide clean interface to clients
- Produce high quality, elegant implementations on time and according to plan
- Collaborate with cross functional, distributed teams to ship new features
- Demonstrate effective leadership and mentoring skills
- Build strong relationships with peers and contribute to vibrant culture
- Work closely with QA to improve quality and application performance

Skills:

- Deep familiarity with distributed systems and scalability
- Strong familiarity with OO Design and development methodologies
- Experience with REST and JSON
- Proven Scala/Java service framework development experience
- Experience developing in a UNIX environment
- Minimum 6 years in software development using Java
- Minimum 4 years developing web applications and services

Desired Experience
- Experience with design and architecture of large, scalable services and systems
- Experience developing services or applications in diverse architectural contexts
- Experience with Postgres or other SQL based RDBMS
- Spring and Hiberbnate exposure
- Experience developing Servlets and JSPs in Apache/Tomcat environment
- SCRUM experience: CSM certification ideal
