Team Leader/Senior Server side Java Developer urgently needed for an alternative trading system for US Equities in NYC. Team Leader/Senior Server side Java Developer urgently needed for an alternative trading system for US Equities in NYC. My client’s main focus is on creating access to new pools of block liquidity for institutions, brokers, and hedge funds. The right candidate will be a strong Java developer who can help to bolster its core team of hard core developers. The team develops high performance, scalable solutions and works with the business to build and enhance features to the ATS platform. The individual will be architecting and developing performance oriented Java components to enhance the ATS platform. Excellent communication skills are a must along with the ability and desire to lead a team and to give presentations.

Requirements
• 5+ years professional Java experience
• Strong core java skills with emphasis on multi-threaded/concurrent programming
• Strong understanding of server-side design and best practices.
• Excellent Communicator that is result oriented and requires little guidance
• Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
• JMS and Tibco EMS knowledge is a strong plus
• MySQL database management and scripting
• Unix Scripting Skills – Shell scripting, AWK, Perl
• Knowledge of the equities trading industry and FIX protocol
• Swing and basic web development
• Experience with Linux and Tomcat
