Senior Java Developer - Amazing 12 month opportunity in Italy

Are you a senior Java Developer looking for an exciting opportunity to apply your skills on a long term-contract with a market leading client in sunnier climes? Then this may just be the rare opportunity you've been looking for - based in Bologna, Italy.

If successful you will be responsible for modelling, developing and maintaining applications and services in order to support our business growth model, in particular:

* Working on the integration and re-factoring of existing applications:
* Managing the design and development of new applications and services;
* Maintaining and developing the team's software package;
* Developing unit and functional testing;
* Documenting the activities performed;

To be considered you must have, as a minimum:

* A degree in computer science, or relevant industry experience
* At least 4-5 years' experience gained in a similar role in international projects and/or within an E-commerce company.
* Excellent Knowledge of Java
* Excellent knowledge of OOP paradigms and design patterns
* Web Services programming model
* Knowledge of an Application Server based on JVM
* Good English communication skills (Italian language skills aren't required as English is the working language)

The following will be considered a plus:

*Knowledge of TDD
*Knowledge of Basic.nix system administration
*Knowledge of Queues via JMS or RabbitMQ
